    Default Qlogic 8Gb HBA Supported?

    Hi...

Has anyone had positive experience with the Qlogic 8Gb/s HBA's. Eg. QLE2560
QLogic Corp. ISP2532-based 8Gb Fibre Channel to PCI Express HBA (rev 02)

Looking to make my Axus Direct Attached storage available as a FC target.

Default QLA2460 won't load target driver

Well I replaced my 8Gb Qlogic HBA with a QLA2460, but the target mode doesn't load.
The card is on thne supported hardware list so I'm guessing it's something else.

    2009-10-29 9:52:37 fc module 'isp_scst' is allowed to load: INIT/TARGET/INITTARGET=0/1/0, a1/a2/a3=1/1/1, loading

    2009-10-29 9:52:38 fc module 'isp_mod' is allowed to load: INIT/TARGET/INITTARGET=0/1/0, a1/a2/a3=1/1/1, loading

    2009-10-29 9:52:38 fc module 'qla2xxx' isn't allowed to load: INIT/TARGET/INITTARGET=0/1/0, a1/a2/a3=1/0/1, not loading

    I don't think 8GB is supported yet

This is saying that the intitiator driver 'qla2xxx' isn't allowed to load, this is because you set it to target mode.

Hi guys, any update related QLE2560 support? we have a QLE2560 setup and consider using DSS.

I haven't had problems using the Qlogic 8Gbit QLE 2560 HBA with open-e. It also worked fine after down-grading it to the QL2460. Make sure to check that it is set to target mode... that gets me every time.

Were you successful with 8Gb speeds or did you have to drop down to 4Gb in order to make a connection? Thanks.

I never checked with 8Gbit, actually (we only had one 8Gbit-capable card, so no 8Gbit initiators). Just with 4Gbit. Also, keep in mind that 8Gbit doesn't have as long of a range as running at 4Gbit.

    Default Update

    -Update-
My Qlogic 8Gb HBA now works in target mode after a recent update.

    @adamvh:
what kind of configuration did you use? Which Build/release version are you using?
And what kind of OS do you have on the server side?

I tried it if windows 2008 Server 64bit R2 and the SANSurfer HBA Manager.

So you get a stable 8Gbit connection?
