    Default External LDAP Groups not listed

    Facts;
    Model: Data Storage Software V6
    Version: 6.0up12.8101.3836 64bit
    Licensed Storage Capacity: 20 TB
    Not yet activated.

    Novell OES2 LDAP Server
    Linux servername 2.6.16.60-0.42.5-default

    Case:

    Users are listed and can be given access, but we need to base the access on groups, and can't seem to get the groups listed in Open-E DSS. I'm not sure what could cause this, but I've been running ndstrace on our ldap server and it seems like it sends back all the info needed to our Open-E server.

    Sending search result entry "cn=TEST,ou=Groups,o=CM" to connection 0xd480000
    Sending search result entry "cn=opene,o=CM" to connection 0xd480000

    Any ideas?

    eik,

    (I have no experience with OES) Are you talking about SMB groups? When upgrading to DSSv6 we noticed that DSS uses an updated LDAP (Samba) scheme and we had to "upgrade" our LDAP entries to conform to that.

    But in our case it was as bad as DSS not recognizing the domain entries in the first place.

    With regards,
    Jens

    We decided to mount the drives on our OES2 server with iSCSI instead, so problem 'solved'.
