Default DSS and Dell MD3000/MD1000 arrays

    hello,

i work on project for centralized storage for virtualized servers (using Xen). i plan to use Open-E as NFS/ISCSI storage to host guest virtual images (to do live migration for example)

Does DSS V6 is compatible with VDs exported by an MD3000 DAS attached (single path) via a SAS HBA 5/E ?

Does DSS V6 compatible with a multipath sas attachement ?

the second solution, more simple maybe to use a PERC 6/E + MD 1000 enclosure. As i've already tested DSS trial with PE2950 + PERC 6/i + local server storage, i think it could works also fine with an MD 1000 but i wonder with a MD3000 enclosure.

    thank you for your help

Check the HCL. Make sure that the HBA is supported. Since disks from the MD3K are exported to you a a single VD, I don't think you'll have any problems.

Oh - and no multipathing. Though it should not be hard to implement since the infrastructure in Linux is already there...
