    Default NFS Problems

    Hi

I have problems connecting via NFS. NFS is allowed in both setup/server/NFS settings and for the individual shares. Some shares can be connected via NFS, some can not, although both shares are set up for NFS.

    [root@thedes-srv ~]# mount -t nfs 10.28.63.63:/share/BACKUP /mnt/nfs/BACKUP
    [root@thedes-srv ~]# mount -t nfs 10.28.63.63:/share/data /mnt/nfs/data
mount: 10.28.63.63:/share/data failed, reason given by server: Permission denied
    [root@thedes-srv ~]# umount /mnt/nfs/BACKUP/
    [root@thedes-srv ~]# umount /mnt/nfs/data
    umount: /mnt/nfs/data: not mounted
    [root@thedes-srv ~]#

    Target directories are existing:
    [root@thedes-srv ~]# dir /mnt/nfs/
BACKUP data DOCUMENTS FTP OCTbook OX-Update RedHat STORAGE

Status/connections/Active NFS user connections are shown although they are not connected anymore.

Is there a possibility to reset the connection as it can be done for FTP and SMB (maintanance/shutdown/Connections reset)?

    Thanks
    Boris

You can restart NFS in Setup > Server. Un-check then apply then check it again and apply.

    Thanks,

tried it already, but it does not work. After switching off NFS there are no users shown under status/connections/Active NFS user connections - but when I switch NFS on again, all the users appear again (although there should be no connections at all). Very strange...

I also tried in addition to switch off NFS for the shares, but it also has no effect.

    Cheers

On the NFS Share Access of the Share do you have checked No Root Squash and nothing in the IP range? Or try to put a specific IP Address just to test for a specific system just for testing purposes.

No root squash is checked; tried different combinations of allow access IP and allow write IP (empty/empty, just one/just one, more than one/more than one, ...), nothing worked.

Seems that some status files are not updated. I have also problems with a deleted share, which I can after deleting not newly create - gives me an "Error: resource already exists", although I have just deleted it. But this is maybe a different thread, or might it be related?

Is there any update planned? I use version 1.89.E000000000.2024.

    Cheers
    Boris
