Problem with AFP talk

Hi,

When I am enabling AFP talk on DSS its got hanged and not responding after that I have to remove network cables and boot the system and uncheck the apple talk and restart with network cable.

Could you please tell me the reason as well as solution for the same.

I have DSS 5.0up62.7101.3518 with storage capacity 16TB.

Try to run the file system repair utility from the Extended Tools section from Console, this will restart the system then try to remove the Apple temp files in the Extended Tools as well. If there are no errors from the Repair filesystem then check RAID health. Also remove the AFP from the share and from the NAS Settings, not sure if you just did the Settings or from the Share as that was not noted but try this after performing the steps mentioned from the Extended Tools (enter from the console screen CTRL + ALT + X to access the Extended tools ).

I have performed the steps which mentioned by you.

1. AFP from NAS setting already removed b'cos its not working.
2. Run the file system check - done without error
3. Remove Apple temp files - done without error
4. Raid health - OK (3Ware)

After performing all the above steps I have Start AFP from NAS setting but face the same problem “system got hanged”. If you need I can send you the system logs.

Please advice.

Yes please send the logs from the GUI in Status > Hardware > Logs.
