Default UID mappings. How to find or create

Hello, I need to setup the UID and GID settings for my 2nd DSS server which it acting as the destination server for replication purposes.

When I click on Configuration - NAS Resources - Shares. the users and groups are empty, apart from 'Guests' and 'Nogroup' under groups. I am prevented from accessing the shares already setup on that server.

Now I'm assuming after reading the help, I need to have the UID for users and the GID for groups. How is this done?

On my 1st DSS server this is showing all the users and groups and I can assign permissions all over the place, but on this 2nd server this is missing.

Can the file uid_mapping.csv be found on the first server, if so where? And can I use that or can I export a csv from Active Directory to do it. If so which fields would I need to export?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Jason

    Default

When Replication is active you will not have access to the shares.

You can test by stopping the replication and making the destination share active
then connect to your AD and you will see all of your users and groups
