Thread: Replication tasks on multiple NICs?

  1. #1

Default Replication tasks on multiple NICs?

Quick question. Is it possible to assign replication tasks to different NICs or must all repl tasks go through the same NIC/IP. I know I can bond etc.

    Default

The Volume Replication must use the same NIC's and used only for the Volume Replication. For the Auto Failover use another NIC with different subnet or network address and the Virtual IP Address can be on that NIC but with different subnet or network address.

Thanks for the clarificatioin. Another query - when doing replication with failover is it possible to have multiple Virtual IPs for different targets? Or must everything go through the one VIP?

    Default

Yes you can add more than VIP, keep them on separate subnets or networks.

Ah, working through the examples I see now, they just aren't the prim/sec nodes for rhe purposes of the failover.

Final question (!) - the ping node. Does it have to be on same subnet as the primary/secondary node subnet? Or is any (reliable) reachable IP ok?

    Default

This needs to be on the same subnet as the nodes.
