disk alerts

We have a server with Perc 4e/Di (LSI Logic RAID SCSI/SATA) RAID controllers.
we would like to setup alerts so that we get an email whenever a drive fails or error has occurred.

I tried enabling S.M.A.R.T from the console via SSH, but i found out that hardware RAID aren't supported.

And on SETUP --> HW RAID, there is an option for LSI Logic MegaRAID administration, which says "Please use console management tool (MegaRAID Manager). I can't find this option from the console.

When i run go to C-A-R, i am able to select my raid controller and modify RAID/Disk configuration.

I'm connecting to the console via SSH.

Where else can i set this up?

I thought DSS LITE only supported Software Raid and did not support Hardware raid controllers.

"Software RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 with E-Mail Notification "

Did you post this in the wrong forum? Anyone with a Perc raid controller would not have DSS Lite installed and never see this thread.
