Question [SMB] Weird hidden share behaviour

Using DSS v6 (6u13 latest build), I created a shared named 'Homes' and started facing weird behaviour immediately afterwards.

Often, DSS replies that "a device is not functioning" when trying to access that share, while other shares in the same LV do not show this behaviour.

Secondly, there is the naming issue: I've hidden the share, since all users need only access to their own subfolder (set by AD, using DFS).
I any user enter the UNC path "\\server\Homes", of course, it is accessible. If, however, the user then moves up to "server", the share becomes visible as "username" (all lower case).

It's not much of an issue, but it is just weird enough to worry about a little...

    Anybody seen this behaviour?

    Default

Let me add that the Homes share is then even accessible through the UNC path "\\server\username" and of course, since the Homes share contains a user folder, the subfolder is accessible throug "\\server\username\username".
