Thread: volume groups but no partition?

  1. #1

Question volume groups but no partition?

    Hi everyone!

I have open-e DSS v6 Trial running with volume replication and automatic failover. I just wanted to make a backup of my two test systems in order to try something else and then I realized that even though I have volumes configured and running there is no partition visible on the drive where my volume is supposed to be (checking partitions using parted magic). Parted magic just says "unallocated".

How can that be? How are those volumes managed? Isn't that weird or just something I don't understand?

    Best regards,
    Christian

Is it maybe a Parted Magic problem? Hmmmm... even though Acronis True Image 2010 doesn't show any partitions either.
