Default Physically moving HDD to another DSS V6 Lite box

    Hi,

I created an iSCSI target on an individual SATA drive on one DSS V6 Lite installation, then tried to plug it into another box that had DSS V6 Lite running on it, and found that although it sees the volume group, when I go into the details for that volume group, it shows "free space" instead of the iSCSI volume. When I move the HDD back to the original box, it again shows the iSCSI volume. Is this behavior expected/by design, or am I doing something wrong?

I would expect that what you are seeing is proper behavior. The 2nd DSS box has no clue about what the first DSS system did to the drive. When you add it to the 2nd DSS box, it looks as if its a new HDD, which is reasonable. I dont think DSS1 and DSS2 really communicate about what they may have done to a piece of hardware between each other.
