slow upload of bigger files
Model: Open-E NAS-XSR ENTERPRISE
Version: 3.04.XE00000000.1876
Release date: 2006-05-22
S/N: 0287675662
When I upload file bigger files (over 20 MB) windows xp shows progres bar and it grows
up to moment where is 5 seconds to the end till the moment I see network activiy
with , several percent utilization, then
it hangs for 30-40 seconds. In this moment there is no network trafic
After that delay it finishes the transfer.
Similar situation is uploading files from Macintsh (win os-x)
I didn't notice this effect earlier.
Do you have any idea how to remove the delay at the end of the transfer?

Did this just start happening recently and from all systems? If so there could be something with the RAID or the Filesystem. Perform a RAID health check and on the filesystem perform a Repair Filesystem from the Extended tools in the Console screen.

Enter CTRL + ALT + X then enter the gui password and this will get you access to perform the Repair filesystem.

I have checked the filesystem. but how to check raid health status?
I have restarted the system and durign first reboot it showed that unit 1 is unavailable.
and continued to boot. I have shut down it again, removed the drive and put again.
At the next startup there was no warning like at the first one.
I also tried to copy 400 MB file from macintosh and it is performed in steps:
1. The first 220 MB goes smoothly, just a few seconds and then:
2. Stops for 40s showing 5s to end
3. Transfers next part and stops at 385 MB for 30 s
4. transfers the rest of the file
For smaller file it stops at about 75% of the file size and waits about 40s
What to check next?
How to check RADID health status?
Looking forward to answers.

This looks like it just started to happen recently so my best assumption would be that there could be problems with the RAID and if you had this unit error that would tell me something is happening to the Array or controller and in the RAID controller there should be some method to perform a RAID health or verify check - this should be in the manual or contact there support team.
If the Repair Filesystem did not show any errors then this could be somewhere in the logs for the NIC's - you can look at the logs and see if there are any critical errors to see any issues.
All the best,
Todd Maxwell
