    Dear friend.

    First of all, sorry for my english.
    I have already installed the follow DSS Lite

    Model: Data Storage Server Lite
    Version: 5.0.DL37000000.3003
    Release date: 2008-01-31
    Licensed Storage Capacity: 1 TB

    My simple question is can i make upgrade directly to OPEN-E DSS V6 Lite ?
    some process to do that? problems , bugs etc etc

    I Suggest backing up the data first, then try perform the update, As if I remember correct the old DSS LITE has a completely different file system/structure than the new V6 LITE.

    Yes the Dss v5 had a different structure than Dss v6 ,

    you can register to Open-E website and have the ability to download the Dss V6 lite which had full time ( but some limited functions) or the Dss V6 Demo ( Full function version ) but limited to 60 days of usability.

    both this Dss v6 ( lite , Demo) can be installed on CD ( .iso image) or on a USB Flash memory ( .zip file). before you buy the full registered version.

    Yes, I have it upgrade mine without asking here first, and now have it more complicated for not backing up.

    So how was your experience with updated version ! that's really bad that they make that hard than previous , they should make ever more easier but they didn't !
