Thread: iSCSI target

  1. #1

    Default iSCSI target

    System:
    Silicon Mechanics chasis
    Open-e DSS latest version
    3Dware 9650SE RAID controller

Two weeks ago we had a two hard drive crash. After replacing the drives and rebuilding the RAID, which took forever; everything came back up except for one iSCSI volume. Although the RAID controller reports that the disks are OK and the RAID unit is OK, the target is unaccessible.

The target gets discovered by ESX or Microsoft Windows, but the the servers cannot access it. It does not even show as available, they just can connect to it.

We replicated the volume to another SAN to rule out a hardware issue, we spent hours with Vmware and ruled out a VMware issue. Open-e has not responded to my support email or calls. I cannot remove the target from the volume on both SANs, the original and the backup one; no error displayed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
