    Thumbs up Updating Areca (or other) Firmware

    Hello,

    I would like to share the following with you;

    I have an Areca 1220 RAID Card and was not able to update the firmware using the Areca Webinterface.

    1) Open a webbrowser and add a share named: "firmware" and give everybody rights to it.
    2) Copy the firmware files (for my areca it was: ARC1220FIRM.BIN, ARC1220BOOT.BIN, ARC1220BIOS.BIN and ARC1220MBR0.BIN) to the new "firmware" share.
    3) Now go to the Open-E Console and press CTRL-ALT-R
    4) Select the Areca RAID Card interface
    5) Type: "sys updatefw path=/shares/firmware/ARC1220FIRM.BIN" and repeat this for the other firmware files.

    Notice: All is case-sensitive, also the filenames!

    The trick is that all shares are mounted under /shares/ on the Open-E machine, that's why you can use the path: /shares/firmware/..

    Succes !

    Lightbulb Password needed ?

    If you have a password (code) on you Areca raid card, after step5 type: "set password=xxxx" (replace xxxx with your password/code).
