Default Open-E DSS V6 sometimes hangs (CAPS-LOCK Flashing etc.) looks like Kernel Panic

I am just evaluating open-E DSS v6 on two (older) Storage Servers:
    Dual-Opterons on TYAN-Boards, onboard 2x Gigabit, PCI-X Infinband-Controller, Areca ARC 1120 w/ 6x 1TB SATA drives
Both identical hardware, running in iscsi-failover mode. Hardware has been stable so far running Debian Linux.

I am testing this open-E setup for a few days and had freezes twice today, one on each server. It just freezes and keyboard lights are flashing. Looks like a kernel panic to me, but how do I debug/see that? Console is just frozen, no networking is possible. No logs in the web frontend after a reboot. The other node runs fine and actually took over the iscsi-IPs.

Nice to know the failover works, but why did the nodes crash? How do I find out?

If you bounce the node, there may be some indication of why the system hung in the logs.
Open-E support, is DSS setup to automatically produce a kernel dump?
