Ok. + thanks to Gr-R
Bonus question to the antivirus feature: If I activate it, does the service will do a kind of real-time scanning unless if I schedule it or not? Regarding to the Open-e help info: Please note that antivirus scanning may decrease the overall system performance.
Best,
T.
dont think its real time as that would require clamd running. but I'll check on that.
it can be load heavy while scanning, but thats just clamav doing its job. On todays systems, its not really an issue.
I've created a Logical Volume assigned to my 20gb volume as a nas share.
The antivirus feature has been activated incl. quarantine feature for my share.
After that I've updated the antivirus definition file.
Issue description: No share is present under MAINTENANCE/antivirus!!
The share is only present if I disable the quarantine feature.
So it is not possible to start any antivirus tasks or schedule if the quarantine setting is on!
This is by design. You need to create a special share for "quarantine".
This prevents the 'quarantine' folder from being scanned, and prevents user files from also being in the same share as 'quarantine'.
the scan, it is scheduled by you
Few questions reply me
What does the Anti Virus Filter do?
How will I know if an email has been quarantined?
Who can use the Anti Virus Filter?
I use an appliance that contain Calm-AV antivirus within it (firewall), and I can say that it can catch the files contain viruses. it is not a web filter to catch spam emails.
and Calm-AV can put the files with viruses in a folder named Quarantine ( you can delete files or return them back from that folder), also the same in Open-E product, the Calm-Av do the same.
But I suggest that you have another Anti-virus to protect your system with, as you can let the antivirus check your targets.
