Thread: SPC-3 failover problem

    Default SPC-3 failover problem

    Hi folks,
I set up a 2008R2 failover cluster. In the cluster test, it tells me that 1 iscsi Volume fulfills the spc-3 (persistent reservation) requirements, but all the others don't.

I use DSS V6. I looked at the howto, but I could not figure out anything on how to make sure SPC-3 is supported. Do I need to set up anything in DSS or are the special configs that need to be done in 2008R2.

    Many thanks in advance

    Jens

DSSV6 has Windows Server 2008 Clustering Support (persistent reservation SCSI-3)

I knew these pdfs already, and thats what I basically did. This information does not help me much, when something does not work.

How can I control that a volume has persistent reservations? Because obviously with all but one the cluster test complains about missing SPC-3. Is there a difference btw SCST or IET?

If SPC-3 reservations should always work, is there a certain problem that could break such a design? Is MPIO in any kind a problem?

    Thanks Jens

Do you use current up50 version? Have you volumes greater than 2 TB? >> http://forum.open-e.com/showthread.php?t=2164

    next release will fix that.

Yes, I have up50 and shares larger than 2 TB. So I will wait for the next release. Thank you very much.
