Yes, it supports hardware RAID despite what you read in the product description. I have two Lite boxes, one with an Areca controller (SATA RAID 10) the other with an HP controller of some flavor (SCSI RAID 5) and both are supported and running fine. The only difference I found was that you can no longer manage the controller directly within the DSS interface like you can with the paid versions.
