Thread: NAS user database is empty

  1. #1

Default NAS user database is empty

Each time the DSS system has rebooted (once intentionally and once not) my Windows connections to NAS share are lost. The open-e system NAS settings shows an empty database error.

The first time this happened, I rebuilt the user database, fixing the issue. I noticed that the Administrator login password changes to being empty after the rebuild was completed.

A few days later I noticed an error in my AD logs indicating there are duplicate SPN's in the domain. Further investigation shows the duplicates are \\dss records.

I just rebooted DSS, after an update, and see the database empty error and windows connection are lost. The NAS share remains. I suspect rebuilding the user database will cause another AD record to be created.

Please tell me what I'm doing wrong so that rebooting doesn't cause this each time.

    Thank you!
