    Angry kernel panic

    Hi All,

Another issue, kernel panic, the duplicated steps like follow:

    1. create a iscsi volume and target

    2. connect the target with initiator on windows 2003

    3. run iometer on the raw device

    4. disconnect the target

    5. repeat 2~4

After several times, kernel panic with message "kernel panic- not syncing MA_ERROR waiting for transaction"

Is there any kernel patch with this?

    Thanks!

During one week test, i saw the kernel panic issue three times, but there was no rule for it. There is just one clue for it, we did the iozone test the iscsi volume performance with windows 2003 client.

in your test scnario had you tweaked the target parameters in DSS ?
    If not do so.
The thread queue may be stacking, and when you pull the connection, it hasnt flushed yet.
    Cache is being used here.
