Thread: Need assistance presenting Volume to host

Default Need assistance presenting Volume to host

    All,

I'm new to VSS6, but not to VMware. I have created a volume and a target for that volume. I have limited the target to the IP addresses (2 per host) coming from my hosts, however, the hosts will not see the new storage. Actually, i think it times out trying to connect to it. I'm assuming I'm missing something in the configuration, and have performed searching for a basic vSphere connection, but have not had any success.

    Any assistance is appreciated.

After creating the target in DSS, did you activate the LUN ?

And how would I go about doing that? I don't see an option for that. I think during the target creation, I added the LUN to it.

Yes, the volume was added to the target during the target creation. Should I perform the Maintenance/Connection reset as advised? If I do this, will it reset all iSCSI connections? I have a Windows machine connected successfully to another Volume.

Yes it will reset all the iSCSI connections.

Is the VMware in a HA setup?

Just so that I understand your scenario better are you using 2 initiators connecting to the same Targert/LUN?
