Vmware FC Volumes

Quick Question is it nescessary to initialize new FC volumes in open-e that will be used with Vmware servers. The reason I ask is that the initialization takes ages, I have created volumes that are not initialized and vmware still sees these volmes.

You dont have to initialize and the reason it takes so long is that it is writing with all ZEROS like a low level format.
