    Default 10GBe iSCSI Test Setup

I am looking at testing 10GBe with iscsi, can I install 2x10GBe cards into an open-e DSS 6 server and then connect two vmware ESX hosts one to each card with direct connections to the cards in the DSS server and access the same iscsi volume. If this works well then we will of course get a 10GBe switch.

The cards I am thinking of trying are the intel 10GBe cx4

    Thank you

    10GB intel will be fine.

Currently iSCSI targets will be broadcast on all configured IPs.
So yes, 2 different hosts, connected directly, on different ports, can access any target.
It is highly recommended you use allow/deny rules at the target configuration to prevent the hosts from hunting and connecting to unneeded LUNs.

Feel free to use the trial version of V6 and test this.
There are various configuration possibilities in this scenario.
