Is it possible to initiate an open-e shutdown with a remote command?

while connected to the console; CNTRL+ALT+K

or the 'shutdown' or 'reboot' command can be issued via the api

We use the upsmon software on a windows server. This software gets the info from the temperatur- and battary sensors and initiates, if necessary, a shutdown from many servers via remote commands. Windows Servers with an in the software integrated shutdwon command, and esx with a powershell script that use VMware PowerCLI commands for the esx shutdwon. How can i do this with open-e?
