Question Problem with Adaptec Serial ATA II Raid 1430SA

    Hello All,
I have a problem with Adaptec 1430SA controller. I have created hardware RAID 1 on it ( array of two 1TB drives). My DSS V6 (6.0up65.8101.5217 64bit) installation is placed on USB device.
The problem is that DSS see 2 separate drives (at Vol.manager>Vol.groups>Unit manager) instead 1 logical device (hardware RAID 1).
Those anyone has the same problem?
    Any ideas?

    PS
At STATUS>HARDWARE>CONTROLLERS INFO I see Adaptec Serial ATA II RAID1430SA.
When I connect to controller thru Adaptec Storage manager I can see that RAID 1 is created
    and status is optimal.

    Hi,

The Adaptec Serial ATA II Raid 1430SA is so called FakeRAID. It means that RAID calculations are done by driver/CPU, not by specialized RAID processor. The Open-E DSS V6 does not support RAID units created with FakeRAIDs, although it can work as drives controller, that's why you see disks. You may use built-in S/W RAID tool in order to create RAID unit or real H/W RAID controller.

    Cheers
