    Default Backup Exec and Snapshots

    Hi.
I'm looking at several options to fix our DSS Tape issue. As we run 24/7 it's difficlt to reboot the DSS to end the stuck backup task, and from prior experiences with other system the backups are generally they sort of things that will lock a system.

Now - If I use Backup Exec, will I still get the advantages of having snapshots to kep the image stable during the backup.. Or does Backup Exec just grab whats on the NFS drive at the time or read (no snapshot locking)

    Many thanks
    Dave

First of all, what is the build of DSSv6 that you are running now?

And for more details about B.Exec, please go to:

and look for : 2010.09 Backup of data residing on DSS V6 with Backup Exec.
