  1. #1

Question How to check disk usage pattern ?

Is there any facility/tool provided within Open-E to check the disk usage pattern? READ/Write Bandwidth, IOPS etc in specific time?

We have 2 small updates that test your volume speeds for Reads and Writes and for your NICs - please send in an email to support asking for this or at pre-sales@open-e.com

Ask for small updates upd_0524-DSS_V6.upd and upd_0574-DSS_V6.upd.

The upd_0524-DSS_V6.upd must be installed from the GUI in Main. > Software update then
reboot then go to the Console Screen then enter CTRL + ALT + T then select Add ons and
there you can test the Array Read and Write.

Then you must remove the small update and upload the other small update and reboot and test the next one like below.

The upd_0574-DSS_V6.upd must be installed from the GUI in Main. > Software update then
reboot then go to the Console Screen then enter CTRL + ALT + T then select Add ons and
there you can test TCP Sending and receiving.

    Thank you for the tools.
Please can you explain, how the disk test work. Is this IOmeter in background??
What does the result stand for?? Sequentiell or random r/w??

I ask, because for us HW Raid 5 is faster than HW Raid 10 (Dell Perc H700)!??

    Thank you for answer.

    Regards,
    Erik
