    Default Open-E DSS as a Hyper-V VM

    Hey,

I am trying to setup an Open-E DSS v6 server as a Hyper-V 2008 R2 VM guest to test it as a replication partner for an iSCSI volume.

After install it has no NICs installed, so I tried creating a new VM with the legacy NIC type but it displays as not connected and I get a ethtool error 75 on the main console after rebooting.

    Anyone have this working?

Thanks, but these are threads related to using Open-E DSS as a storage target for Hyper-V hosts, which is obviously very common and I can do this fine.

I am trying to install Open-E DSS as a Hyper-V Guest for a lab test, I guess it can't be done due to Open-E DSS not supporting the Virtual NIC hardware supplied by Hyper-V

Try Virtual box http://www.virtualbox.org/ it could help you.
And try to connect a Hyper-V machine to a virtual box machine, I did not test it but it should works some how.

With ESX 4.0 / 4.1 you can use OpenE as guest.
    But no vmware tools.
