Thread: SAN Cluster with WAN Replication to DR cluster

  1. #1

Default SAN Cluster with WAN Replication to DR cluster

Is it possible with DSSV6 to replicate a volume over LAN and replicate that same volume to another DSSV6 cluster at a DR site over WAN, synchronous?

When testing the trail version of DSS V6, and setting synchronous volume replication between two DSSV6 nodes, it doesn't look like you can set another replication job on the same volume for synchronous replication to a DR site.

Is this true or am I missing something?

Now that I have re-read you question - we dont have this feature but we might have some ideas but we would need to test this - are you willing to test with your systems w/ our engineers?

    Todd/ Patrick,

This query has recently arisen in our organisation and I would be very interested to hear how your investigations went

Specifically looking to have two SANS on site configured for failover (either manual or automatic) which then replicate to a third SAN over WAN

    Cheers

    Hi Ben,

We did have some small updates but it is old and for that older ver of V6 and I have no idea if Patrick completed the very complicated procedures. Also it is unsupported from our end and it is in our designs in the future for V7 but no set date for the ETA. The best would be to have a snapshot setup for the destination server then copy the data to a NAS share then use the Data Replication to replicate to a 3rd site.
    All the best,

    Todd Maxwell
