    Default Wan Volume Replication Questions

    1. Is open-E going to bring back Async volume replication for WAN?
    2. If wan and lan replications are both sync, what does ticking the "wan" box do?
    3. Is it necessary to enter a bandwidth value for WAN replication?

    1. Is open-E going to bring back Async volume replication for WAN?
No, too long of a reason why but not stable enough.

    2. If wan and lan replications are both sync, what does ticking the "wan" box do?
For ports and NAT and mapping the same WAN names.

    3. Is it necessary to enter a bandwidth value for WAN replication?
Wow.... funny how this was in the OECE (Open-E Certified Engineer) course today.

If you have a 10MB pipe and you have 2 tasks then you will need to set each task at 5MB.

Always good to here from you

OK. So if I don't need to do nat.. e.g. seamless connectivity between two two sites that are connected via VPN then I don't need to tick this box.. I just need to ensure that I configure the bandwidth properly right?

That's correct, just modify bandwidth - even if using any WAN replication even with VPN.
