Time to Label a Tape

Hi Folks

I have the latest DSS V6 and a Dell 132T Power Vault tape library. I can see all of my tapes however when I try and label a tape the system seems to take a VERY long time and does ot attach the tapes to the backup pool

How long should this operation take? Its been over an hour and I am still seeing the message
"This function is not available, because a backup function is currently in use"

When you select Erase when creating a pool how long should that tape.

- Are you running the latest build of DSSv6?
- Did you update your RAID Controller BIOS and mother board BIOS?
- Try to erase and retention the tapes, that should help

Yes - very latest V6
No - bios for the card supporting the Tape is seperate from the RAID, but still seen by Open-E

I've restarted the tape system but I am still geting the blue warnings re

Function not available, backup function is in use

Do you have any running tasks, snapshots, etc? try to stop them all, and only run the Tape backup.

Did you reboot your server, or just restart the tape system!
