    Default iSCSI options with XenServer

    Dear Support,

    I read in this forum about iSCSI tuning options in advanced settings at Open-E.
    As these settings have to be matched with XenServer I am asking if somebody has recommendations / experiences with these settings?

    I read about "best settings" here in the forum:
    headerDigest=None
    DataDigest=None
    maxoutstandingr2t=8
    FirstBurstLength=65536
    MaxBurstLength=16776192
    maxRecvDataSegmentLen=262144
    InitialR2T=No
    ImmediateData=Yes
    Maxxmitdatasegment=262144
    Wthreads=8

    Any comments?

    Thanks,
    Matthias

    Your mileage will generally vary when adjusting some of the settings. Most of the settings are negotiated with the initiator.
    I wouldn't adjust the defaults unless you are attempting to resolve an issue. Again, most of the defaults are optimized for various situations and require no tuning whatsoever for most environments.
    If you do want to make some adjustments, you can adjust the FirstBurstLength to 256k (262144).
