Thread: iSCSI Data Replication

    Default iSCSI Data Replication

    Hi,

We've been using DSS Lite 6TB for a year or so now. We have 3 Volume groups with 4 Logical Volumes. All the volumes are iSCSI file i/o volumes without replication or snapshots and no free space available on the raid array.

We connect to the SAN with iSCSI through VMWare ESXi.

We are now looking at setting up another DSS to get some redundancy.

What are your thoughts on how we can have a redundant SAN?

    Thanks!

    Adam

Are you referring to: Synchronous Volume Replication over LAN?

Will it be a problem since I have 0gb reserved for replication?

    Please visit this link: http://www.open-e.com/library/how-to-resources/
And you can find there how to create a replication over a LAN.

In general, replication need a free space to replicate your data on it, and you can replicate your old system to the new system that you are planning to get.

I looked at this document: http://documents.open-e.com/Open-E_D...over_a_LAN.pdf but it appears to be for NAS and not iSCSI.

My setup does not have any free space in my array to enable replication, do I have any options?
