Default Issues with setting up volume replication with failover

Hi I'm new to the Open-E software. I have been doing some testing with my work to see if Open-E will work in our environment. I have been following the pdf guide on the site and everything has been running smoothly till I get to the part where I'm supposed to setup volume replication on the primary node. I make sure that the primary is the source and type in the IP I assigned for the secondary node in the mirror server ip box. Once I click apply I get the replication task settings to show up. That all looks just like the screenshot in the pdf. Both source volume and destination are the same. I give it a name and click create. Here is where im stumped. Once I click create it looks like its going to work and then when I scroll down to look for the task in the replication task manager nothing is there. All it says that no task has been found. If I go over to the secondary node a task is showing up with the name I created and reverse after it. So it seems to work on that side but not the other. I thought that the servers were communicating correctly so I tried to ping the secondary from the primary and it worked just fine. I dont really know what else to try because I'm still really new with this product. I double checked all my IP settings for eth0, eth1, and bond0 and they all match up on both sides. If anybody can shed some light on what I'm doing wrong I would greatly appreciate it. Also if you need anymore info just let me know.

delete the reverse task, and start again in configuring the rep task.
you didnt mention how big the volumes are, but usually anything under 5GB is big enough.
