Gr-R,
Could you perhaps in PM expain which version of Ubuntu / Debian you use as core? I'll give Dell ProSupport a call tomorrow (we buy a lot of Dell hardware) so I'll see what I can do about that.
Thanks.

Dell will probably tell you something along the lines of run the Centos livecd and you can run OpenManage locally or remotely.

Adam,
I've sent you a PM regarding some questions I've got. I've also called ProSupport and I've managed to get some Debian packages.

works like a charm on Ubuntu 10.4.3

please submit a formal request through the proper support channel, incuding the links you provided.
I will check into it for you.
yeah i would totally be onboard if open-e could create a small update .upd package to add Dell Open Manager functionality!
huge +1 to that

falconstor nss has this built into the base image, and i've always considered it really handy feature. especially when dell want to collect dset logs etc from the server.
the only option with dss was to to put the dell osma live cd in the server.
and reboot dss to run the livecd and collect the diagnostic data and then reboot back into dss. which seemed like a really backwards way to do something so trivial.
the small update would be a solution to that.
Do I also need to submit again?Originally Posted by Gr-R
Nope, if a small update can be done, i will get it to you also.Originally Posted by tomtom901
