Problem with smart -ups rt 3000 xl

hi community,

I try to connect my ups with one of our nas with open-e dssv6 5845.

On the open-e page the ups is listed as compatible:

In the dss the ups-model is not listed so i try smartups with smart cable ( i got a 940-1525A from apc). And use com1 ( my nas only got one com-port).
On the status page i only got a "no status information"-status.

How can i manage to connect the ups and the dss.
I got some basic howto here:

but this not works for me.

Some extra information:
I use a network management card for the ups.
the cable is listed as smart signaling by apc:

is this the same like smart-cable in dss ? maybe a cable issue ?
