Well unfortunately, using the full version does not let me define volume groups either.
That was even after updating to the latest bios and firmware on my controller.
There does not seem to be any support for controllers based on the LSI Logic / Symbios Logic SAS1064ET PCI-Express Fusion-MPT SAS (rev 08) chip, such as my LSI SAS 3041E-R.
I can see the hardware listed on STATUS > HARDWARE.....but no driver listed below it in the drivers section. Didn't anything helpful in dmesg either.
Try to restore your settings to factory default. from console mode,
C-A-X, and select option 3, restore factory setup settings.
In the DSS V6 b5458 we use the following version of mpt2sas driver:
description: LSI MPT Fusion SAS 2.0 Device Driver version: 04.00.01.00
If you have a valid premium support license, please report the problem through our user portal and we can prepare a small update with the newest mpt2sas driver for you.
BR,
Tom
I believe the required driver for my controller would be the mptsas rather than the mpt2sas.
The mptsas driver loaded is:controllers based on the LSI Logic / Symbios Logic SAS1064ET PCI-Express Fusion-MPT SAS
SAS1064ET PCI-Express Fusion-MPT SAS (MPTSAS, 3.04.07)
I don't even see a LSI SAS 3041E-R on the LSI product list on www.lsi.com
I do see the 3041X-R, and a 3081E-R, and they both use the 1064 drivers.
