Thread: Windows Folder Redirection via GPO to DSS6 SMB share

  1. #1

Default Windows Folder Redirection via GPO to DSS6 SMB share

    Hi

I have users desktop & documents redirected via GPO to \\dss1\data1, the user is granted (via GPO) exclusive access to the folders

the folders get created ok for the username with subfolders of "desktop" and "my documents"
the "desktop" folder is not accessible to other users
The "my documents" folder is accessible to other users (the sub folders pictures/music/videos are not accessible)

What can be changed to make the "my documents" folder unavailable to other users

I have tried changing permissions and ACL's but either I have not got the mix right or am looking in the wrong place.
is there a docuement on the correct settings for folder redirections

This works correctly on a share from a Windows server but I want to put most of the storage/shares on open-e

    Thanks

    Ed

    Hi

I read this and while it helped in the connecting to AD, it did nothing for the redirected folders permissions

actually this is NOT an open-e problem

the GPO (on a 2003 DC) works fine for XP Clients but not for Windows 7 clients
A GPO (using a 2008r2 DC GPMC) for only Win 7 clients (with the XP compatability selected) works fine

    sorry

should say without the XP compatability selected
