If there is an I/O error with the RAID controller, yes we check for that with our latest builds of DSSv6.
Even you have RAID 6 or else. So if the primary system report I/O errors related to the controller, then the secondary will start up. Even there are other issues that can make the secondary start up, depend on the failover issues.
