Thread: Delay Engine

    Default Delay Engine

The manual tells me that the delay engine enables run time delay. I am guessing that this means this is to prevent an attempt to brute force crack a password.

However can any give me any more details regarding this service please?

    Thanks in advance

it is used to delay initial login, in case a hacker is watching a connection, this can help.

OK, but what I could not see from the manuals was what sort of delay? If a brute force password cracker is run, does the delay between retries get longer?

This can help with brute force attacks.
The delay engine creates the appearance of a delay when checking user and pass credentials. This delay makes it harder for brute force attacks to determine if a username is valid versus one that is not.
