Thread: Question on Open-E

    Default Question on Open-E

Looking to implement this on our own custom built SANs

We want a solution whereby if the storage on the server fails say anywhere from a single drive to the entire server enclosure, a NIC, whatever it is, the HA would kick in and it would go to the backup server (we aim to have a pair or 3 servers) and automatically activate snapshots of the VMs.

Also want more information on stuff like de-dupe, snapshotting, ram caching, replication, etc

Also does anyone currently use this with Cloudstack or OnApp?

When you are running a Replication/ Failover service within the DSS, then you can have identical server( system ), that means your first server and second server will be exact the same, and when the first server is down, the second one will run immediately with the same data on it, also you can enable the snapshots and replicate them so you can still have them on the second server too.

What are you looking for about the more information about snap shooting and else? If you are looking for general information, you may Google it or check the Wikipedia for example. Unless if you are looking for something specific for example.

For OnApp, you may check the following link: http://www.open-e.com/partners/meet-...rs/silver/891/
