Hi there,

Open-E DSS 6 has support for Infiniband (unfortunately, only IBoIP), but I haven't seen this in the feature list of DSS 7. Do you have plans to support Infiniband in the future, or can you tell us of any (known) roadmaps regarding IB? We use IB SRP on a cluster from one of your competitors, but we have some issues with it. Thusfar, another cluster which runs on DSS6 (and ethernet), we haven't encountered any problems in almost a year which puts a lot of trust in products from Open-E.

With virtualization and cloud computing taking massive steps towards more HPC clusters in smaller commercial environments, the need for networktechnologies with _very_ low latencies rises. It's not really the bandwidth... I mean 10GbE takes care of that (eventhough is seriously expensive compared to IB), but more important: latencies. Especially when using SSD storag. Now Intel has taken over the IB activities of Qlogic and is putting new serverboards on the market equipped with IB, there will be more support and market for IB.

Can you tell your thoughts about this?

Thanks!
