Default Support for PCIe SSD devices

The availability of PCIe SSD adapters has exploded in the last 12 months. I don't, though, see any of these devices list on the HCL.

Are there any plans in this area, or is it a case that as devices are purchased by Open-E clients that updates/patches will be provided as needed?

Also many are using just SSD HD's as they are less expensive and can get the same performance.

Actually, PCIe SSD have considerably better performance that the SATA or SAS SSDs. The use of the PCIe provides much higher bandwidth and lower latencies -> fast throughput, more IOs.

As for the pricing, yes they are more expensive.

Comparing performance vs price, some customers would prefer to keep using SATA or SAS SSD for the mean time.

It depends what PCI-E Solid State cards, some of the consumer ones come in at a fraction of the enterprise ones.
So when comparing to Fusion-IO cards like a 160GB SLC ioDrive can cost more than $5000 USD.
Suddenly Enterprise eMLC or SLC solid disk drives for LSI CacheCade are looking better options

There certainly is lots of choose from!
