Default can't delete folders via smb...

    Hi all,

I want to be able to delete folders on a AFP & SMB shared volume. I can delete files, but the hidden os x system files prevents me from deleting folders created and/or modified with AFP via SMB.

I'm aware of the option to hide/show special folders in SMB settings, but I want to keep them away from view, as my SMB users usually want to see hidden system files on their machines. I can delete a folder just fine when the option is unchecked.

Is there a way to overcome this "security feature" (Open-E KB 692 - http://kb.open-e.com/Cant-access/rem...C-OSX_692.html ), by keeping the files hidden, but still allowing deletion of a folder and its contents ?

    Thanks !

when selecting to hide them, they are also vetoed.
So to be able to do what you want, you will have to show them.

Can I change this behavior ?
I saw this in the KB : http://kb.open-e.com/Where-is-the-in...-stored_8.html

Can I edit this shares configuration file to add this option :
    http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/man/...ELETEVETOFILES

    ...which would be perfect ?

You will need to open a support case and request a small update for the smb.conf change.
