Thread: Cannot connect with Windows 7 iSCSI client

Default Cannot connect with Windows 7 iSCSI client

I had a good connection with a Windows 7 client using chap to a iSCSI target. I wanted to move the software using this target to a new machine so I disconnected everything from the original Windwos 7 machine and now I cannot get the new machine to connect. I keep getting an "Authentication Failure" on the new client machine when using the MS iSCSI Initiator.

When I tried to go back to the original machine now I get the same error message so I'm dead in the water for accessing my iSCSI target.

    Currently using Open-E version 7.0up02.9101.6645 64bit

I have double checked Windows Firewall on the new machine and old machine - turned off for all networks

CHAP off or on does not make a difference.

    I have Deny Access: 0.0.0.0/0
    Allow Access: 192.168.1.0/24

I can ping the storage device from the clients.

In Windows 7 logs I can see the following each time I try to setup the MS iSCSI Initator:

    Error:
Login request failed. The login response packet is given in the dump data.

    Warning:
iSCSI discovery via SendTargets failed with error code 0xefff0009 to target portal *192.168.1.20 0003260 ROOT\ISCSIPRT\0000_0 .

    Any help will be appreciated.

Try deleting and re-creating the target link.
DO NOT remove the volume itself, just the target.
