Thread: Smartmontools

    Default Smartmontools

Just saw that the Smartmontools and the LSI Smart API is part of the Open-E package. We need to monitor the health of our SSDīs on a LSI Megaraid Controller with these Smartmontools and the necessary SMART commands. This can be usually done with a command like "smartctl -d megaraid,4 -a /dev/sda". How can we access these commands from within Open-E ? We did not find any SSH console or entry's in the Console Tools...

We tried this but were not able to get some useful information's out of our Samsung SSDs connected to a LSI RAID controller with it...Did somebody manage to read out these values to get some early warnings about possible failures of the disks ?

Do you see any output for this drive or it just differs from others and does not have error counter?
Best open a quick support ticket so we our guys can check if this drive is fully supported by smartmontools etc.
