Thread: vSphere HA Storage Cluster for NFS and iSCSI?

  1. #1

Question vSphere HA Storage Cluster for NFS and iSCSI?

Just picking through the guides/forums etc.

Let's say we have two locations each with a storage node in it (Open-E running on a physical or Virtual Server).

Can we do synchronous replication and serve LUNs active/active so both nodes are used when both sites are up, but with automatic failover when one site is down?

Basically what HP P4000/StoreVirtual does for iSCSI if anyone is familiar with it, but for iSCSI and NFS.

    Can Open-E do this?

I don't see much reference to split brain (doesn't appear to use a third location/node for quorum?).

DSS V7 can have iSCSI LUN active on both nodes of cluster at the same time (Active-Active Failover). NFS failover is not supported in DSS V7.
