We have two units created on the Open-E iSCSI Enterprise Target. The units are formatted with the NTFS-filesystem. A W2k3 server is writing on these units which are mounted by the "MS iSCSI Software Initiator". At same time both units are mounted by "open-iscsi" as readonly devices at a linux server.
If the W2k3 is writing to the iSCSI-Target the data where shown only after a remount of the iSCSI devices on linux server.
is there a chance to see the changes on the filesystem done by the W2k3 server whitout a remount of the devices on the linux server?
Unfortunately this function is not available. There are applications that provide additional functions that will assist on this and allow multiple systems to access the same Target
by using a special SAN file system.
SAN file system solutions are very expensive. The easiest way to share
the data on iSCSI Target is to create network share and get clients to
connect to the network share and not directly to the target.
