Thread: DSS 7 on VMware 5.1 as VSA with Active Active

Default DSS 7 on VMware 5.1 as VSA with Active Active

So I've got a client that needs 2 VMware boxes. I'm considering proposing Vmware's VSA, or Open-E.

Is running DSS 7 as a VSA on 5.1 been tested / supported in an active / active config? I'll have dual 10GB NIC's for replication / storage access in each box.

There are many supportive refrences with DSS V7 as a VM. These videos will show you more on what you need.

yes, we have had this running for a while now, but anyone who is vmware experienced would say you need at least 3 cards in each "physical box", plus 2x 10gb switches.

    subnet 1: operations & management
    subnet 2: storage & iscsi
subnet 3: vmware heartbeat & open-e san failover
